If you've been online for any amount of time, chances are you've run accross an ad for the Rich Jerk Website. His marketing is notoriously obnoxious, saying that other gurus "suck" and that he's "better than you."

In fact, in all my research, I have yet to come across a course which is as beginner friendly, and effective, as the Rich Jerk.

The Good:

If the Rich Jerk is anything, he's to the point. There is no fluff in his book. None. Just packed back-to-back tactics and techniques that teach you how to use his methods to stat making money on the internet.

There is a lot of valuable information in there. What is particuarly interesting are his secrets on creating affiliate websites that actually get you results.

The Rich Jerk talks about how he created lots of affiliate sites like he advises you to make, and wound up selling them for lots of money.

In fact, the tactics the Rich Jerk talks about in the book runs the gammut from affiliate marketing, to wholeselling goods on ebay, to sneaky search engine optimization tactics, to how to protect yourself from scammers and people looking to take advantage of you.

All this combines to be a KILLER resource for beginning marketers.

Another great benefit of getting the Rich Jerk's course is access to his members-only forum. Only people who buy the Rich Jerk course are allowed to post on the forum, which keeps the quality of posters very high. The Rich Jerk himself even comes on and answers people's questions - which is more valuable than you can imagine.

The course is also very cheap - in fact, it's the most affordable internet marketing course I've found, clocking in at a measily $9.95. I spend that much at McDonalds for lunch, so $9.95 to learn the Rich Jerk's secrets is a steal!

And when his refund guarantee was tested, the refund request was answered promtply and courteously. In fact, all my dealings with the Rich jerk support staff have been nothing but pleasent.

But most of all, the thing that puts the Rich Jerk at the top of the list is the fact that with each purchase, he gives you a FREE website to help you get started making money online.

Even if you know nothing about computers, and have no idea how to brave the internet to start your own business - the Rich Jerk will give you a website that has been proven and tested to work.

In fact, he even gives you in-depth training on how to use the site to make money! Something that is far more valuable than anything else I have come accross on the internet.

In fact - you may not even believe this - but this site is one of the free websites the Rich Jerk gives his students to help them get started! It's completely customizable, so I'm able to make it my own to reflect my personality and experiences.

Because of all this, I cannot recommend the Rich Jerk Strongly enough.

The Bad:

Other than the fact that the Rich Jerk can seem condecending and pompous at times - and that he's known for using some dirty language on his forum and blog - there is very little bad to be said about his system.

My only real criticism is that I wish the course was longer! His ebook is a breeze to read at 64 pages, so much so that I found myself wanting more. However, he makes up for this with the amazing training he offers when you set up your free website.

The Verdict:

Strongly Recommend - A Must Buy

If the killer tactics, excellent support, elite forum, and free website and training weren't enough, you simply can't beat the price.

No other online marketing course I've found has been able to deliver the goods as affordably as the Rich Jerk, and I would highly recommend you check him out first before you commit to any other courses.

There is probably a major problem lurking on your sales page right now. And it could be hurting your profits.

Experts agree that one of the most important factors in a successful website is credibility. This frequently translates into the credibility of the site owner. People are more likely to buy from somebody they believe in.

Is your website as credible as it could be?

People judge credibility by many subtle factors. Does the design of the site look professional? Is the site well written? Are there typos and grammar errors strewn throughout the site? Is the author believable? Does the author have experience in this market or with this product? These are all important factors.

We also know that a strong guarantee is a key part of a successful sales page. Taken one step further, the reader needs to believe he will actually get a refund if requested. And herein often lies a major inconsistency.

Look at your sales page and ask yourself: Who is standing behind the product? What do you provide for contact information?

If there is only an e-mail address, or worse yet, no contact information at all, then you do not have a believable guarantee.

If you want someone to believe that you stand behind your product you need to be reachable. Put your complete contact information on your web site. I'm not just talking about an e-mail address. Consider adding your snail mail address and even, dare I say, your phone number.

At first, I worried about using this approach. I feared getting calls at all hours of the night. I worried about getting overwhelmed. But, I reasoned, I could always remove the phone number if it became a problem.

Turns out, having my phone number on the site is a blessing. I have made dozens of sales because I have been available to answer one or two simple questions from a prospect. I now look at each telephone call as an opportunity to help someone solve their problem and, frequently, earn their business.

I have received numerous comments from customers saying that one of the reasons they purchased is because they can tell there is a "real person" standing behind this business. The fact it is, I only get about one or two phone calls a day. And my sites have thousands of visitors every day.

In summary, take a look at your own sales page or contact page with a critical eye. Do you look like just another anonymous web site? Or is there a person there; ready, willing and able to help. The answer to these questions may have a lot to do with your conversion rates.

At the very least, test putting your phone number on your web site. Even if your web business is part time, with a good voice mail system you will sound professional and you can return phone calls when you are able. Try this credibility improvement. And see if it doesn't improve your sales.

Not all financial advisors who work on commission are biased, but the temptation is there. You're safest sticking with hourly fee advisors, but in the end it's really a question of the individual person. Partner with the person who makes you feel comfortable to achieve financial freedom.

The reality is that the more honest and reputable a financial planner is, the less money that their not-so-honest and others make. An honest, fee-only financial planner may only charge you a few hundred dollars for an afternoon session. But what about the not-so-honest financial planner who uses that three-hour session to sell you an overpriced investment that makes him a commission of thousands of dollars? The latter financial planner will get rich much quicker than the former, but will do so at the expense of the person they were supposed to help achieve financial freedom.

Another warning sign that your financial planner is thinking solely about themselves is whether or not they ask you about your goals. Remember that financial planning is first about your plans. Unless you have a multiple personality disorder, you're never going to cheat yourself. You know what's best for you better than anyone else. You may not need a financial advisor for quite some time.

There is one thing a financial advisor can do that no article can do for you and that's give you a kick in the ass. I never understood why people paid for personal trainers until my mom got one and her bench press came dangerously close to exceeding mine. I worked out when I could find time, but my mom made sure she worked out consistently. Financial advisors can be that missing link between saying you're going to invest and actually doing it.

You won't find too many financial articles telling young people to seek out a tax advisor and develop a tax strategy, but it's important for many reasons. The first is that many of the simplest tax breaks fit snugly into the lives of students and young professionals. These juicy tax breaks revolve around education expenses, moving expenses, children, working overseas and earning a low income. Do any of those sound like you? Every day these emails go out and every day I get valuable information. To me, finding out why people buy is more important than why they don't. (although I try to find that out, too) That's because there are so many reasons a person may not buy, many of which are beyond my control.

But knowing what turns on buyers is a huge benefit to me as I fine tune the copy. For example, here are some of the comments I get:

**** The Results Provide Great Customer Insight ****

"I read all the info and I liked the fact that I did not have to create a web site and a bunch of other stuff. I am new to internet marketing as well as being technically illiterate but I figure I can follow instructions for the most part and you offer the support I will need."

"Personalized autoresponder and newsletter."

"Reason: The eBook, 10 Powerful Ways CBmall Makes You Money, made good marketing sense... Also the products on ClickBank - CBmall are terrific and good sellers...."

"I found your ad at clickbank.com"

**** What You Can Learn ****

OK let's look at this small sample to see what I can learn from it.

* My ad on the ClickBank web site is working - keep it going.

* I have a lot of beginners who don't have a web site of their own. I should continue to highlight this feature.

* People like the fact that there is a built-in autoresponder that puts their affiliate links on all the messages that go out. It means they get multiple chances to sell. Perhaps I should promote this more.

* My eBook and eCourse, 10 Powerful Ways CBmall Makes You Money, is working.

* Look at the last message. This is evidence of how important follow-up is. This person waited 3 months before she felt comfortable ordering.

* My guarantee is very important.

While I can only show you a small sample here, there are many more that echo these thoughts. Put them together in your head and you can see clear trends about what features come up most frequently. For me, ease of use, the ClickBank affiliation and the personalized autoresponders are the most common reasons people buy. I have adjusted the sales copy to highlight these features.

What will you find out?

Note for ClickBank affiliates: If you use ClickBank, you know that you get the email address of your customers. You can use that to send a quick email requesting this information.

A word about timing: I have found that this works really well if you send the email out immediately after the purchase. Mine goes out at the same time the thank you email goes out. This way, the reasons are still fresh in the customer's mind, and they are in a very cooperative mood - often quite excited from their purchase and anxious to do anything to help.

How to reply: I set up a simple macro so that I can just hit reply, activate the macro, and hit send. It just takes a few seconds. Mine just says:

"Thank you for helping out with your input. I really appreciate it. I look forward to helping you make extra money with your new CBmall."

That's all you need, but you should be sure to acknowledge their answers with a reply.

**** How This Helps Your Affiliate Program ****

Here's another great fringe benefit of this tactic. Often customers will specifically mention the newsletter they were reading or the web site they were visiting that first told them about CBmall.

When they do, I will frequently copy the email and send it to that newsletter or web site owner. Since these people are my affiliates, it's a great way to show them how their CBmall promotions are working. It also shows them I am paying attention to their business.

Remember that "mind share" is important in keeping your affiliates active and promoting your products. I've garnered considerable good will through these quick little messages.

**** Summary ****

In summary, while ad tracking is vital to learn WHERE your business is coming from, an autoresponder message to find out WHY you got your business is often just as valuable. Implement this simple tactic and give yourself a better understanding of what is working for you. Use that knowledge to fine tune your site for maximum conversions.

The other day I was talking to a guy at the health club I just joined. (Never had time when I was working for someone else.) We started talking about our personal trainers. If you aren't familiar with the term, these are fitness experts who are educated to design work-out routines based on an individuals strengths, needs and goals.

Anyway, Rick said something that struck me right between the eyes. "I got so confused reading all the books and fitness magazines. Everyone has a different opinion of what works the best. I finally figured if I was going to work out, I might as well pick one expert, listen to them and follow their program."

Later, as I was driving my sore body home, I thought about how appropriate Rick's comment was to Internet Marketing. Everyone's an expert. (Even people who have yet to sell their first eBook.) And there are a million programs, books, secrets, techniques and tactics that will work for you.

The problem is, you can easily fall into what my favorite business school professor called, "Analysis Paralysis". That's where a lot of people are stuck. They keep reading, and it gets in the way of actually doing something.

***** I was guilty *****

I was guilty of this, too. I must have bought several hundred dollars worth of books and courses before I found what worked for me.

Fortunately, the expert I decided to follow was, in hindsight, an excellent choice. And by following his advice and listening to his ideas, I have built up a couple of successful income streams.

My point isn't that my "guru" is the right one for everyone. The point is to pick one or maybe a couple of people you really respect, and model them. Of course, make sure they are actually successful in their own businesses first. But when you find someone you respect and whose style you like, listen to their advice and follow what they recommend in their writings.

***** Save Your Brain *****

Following this strategy can save lots of brain cells that you would spend switching strategies and tactics. It avoids confusion and gives you a good point of reference from which to work.

You don't have to keep reading and searching for the latest eBooks. Assume your guru knows the latest tactics and will advise you of how well they work.

I'm not saying you never look at another eBook or eZine again, it's just that you have one primary star you follow, it's that much easier to find your way.
